Writing workshop:
“Revising for Publication: Taking Your Writing to the Next Level”
Tuesday, June 12, 6:30 p.m.
Taught by Chuck Caruso

Pre-registration required, $50 class fee, submit 10-12 pages of a manuscript one week before class

MBTB’s own Chuck Caruso, an author and an experienced college writing teacher, led a successful writing workshop a few weeks ago. He’s back to teach another aspect to mystery writing. This will be a two-hour, hands-on seminar to help aspiring writers polish their work for publication. Learning to bring characters and dialogue to life and make your action leap off the page will ensure you catch the attention of editors and help you sell your fiction. The class will discuss the revision process and draw examples from the participants’ work. Participants will receive a marked-up version of their manuscript with full editorial comments.

Emerald Storm (hardcover, $25.99)

We enjoyed last year's visit with William Dietrich, and we learned to love his character, former bon vivant and charlatan Ethan Gage. In The Emerald Storm, fifth in the series, the intrepid Gage and his family are caught in an adventure that takes them from Tripoli to Paris to Haiti to Martinique in 1803, chasing Montezuma's treasure. This is an enjoyable way to learn history. Find out more at: http://williamdietrich
